Blur’s “A Gentleman’s Duel”

Excellently animated in a wonderful streampunk style. Giant robots, electricity from electric eels, everything covered in intricate ornamentation.

Rejected - Don Hertzfeldt

Simplistic linear animation based around line drawings, few colours. The surreal, dark humour fits brilliantly with the understated style.

The ending is pretty awesome as well, with the paper rippling and distorting and the cartoon world crashing and falling apart on itself.

Chainsaw Maid - Zombie Claymation

Quite a different take on the use of animation/claymation. Pretty inventive/funny/chilling. Minimalistic sound and tones add to the atmosphere….as well as chainsaw-cutting effects, and red/blue lighting in places.

Dream Theater - Octavarium Animation

Pretty cool artistic style, hand drawn caricature. Animation also follows the music, along with what looks like the musicans hitting the right notes and playing in time with the music. A surrealistic series of events that reflects the changes in music and its hectic movement……..also my favourite band.

Cowboy Bebop Intro - Tank

  • Cool Typography
  • Bold colours
  • Crazy silouhettes
  • Awesome jazz music
